What is the difference between being a dad and being a father. Sure we say things like he fathered the child, he has no dad and so on. Alternatively there are intact family where even yet a dad isn’t present or families where the dad isn’t the father. I have personally had several so-called dads that influenced my life significantly and mostly not in a positive way.
There are other cases where some role models become the dad by their nurturing nature toward children. These types of men will typically take on roles such as coach, mentor and the like where the influence levels are high. You can be a dad to any child of whom you are not the father. And watch the brightness within that child just explode.
Lastly in my experience, a child will always ask their dad for help and will never ask their father for help. Their just isn’t a foundation in the term ‘father’ to have the trust with exception of the heavenly Father who we do not call Dad.
